We were all very excited when the results came in and our judges had finished judging in our ‘Choosing the Finalist’ round for the Gamification Software Award. We, along with our very patient entrants have now been eagerly waiting for our judges to submit their votes and pick their winner!
We had some excellent submissions to the Gamification Software Award and our judges have had a lot of fun reading through the inspiring projects that have been taking place in the past year and beyond. It was a tough job picking who they’d like to see as their 2019 finalists and the scores were all very close. If you’d like to find out a little more about the finalists you can read our blog here.
The time has come for us to announce the winner of our The Gamification Awards 2019 - Gamification Software Award, so we won’t keep you waiting any longer!
MASSIVE Congratulations to our Gamification Software Winner…
Aligning with the importance of the sense of ownership, purpose and also the aim for achieving competency in delivering engaging resources to learners, The Beaconing Project, funded by the European Commission Horizon 2020 programme (Arnab, 2017; Stefan et al., 2018) investigated gamified approaches for digitally enabling play-learn in everyday spaces that foster cross-subject learning. The project produced a tool that enables teachers to author and co-create gamified and pervasive lesson plans. This has opened up opportunities for teachers to experiment new ways for designing and delivering their content, and to also track the learning achieved beyond the formal setting of classroom teaching.
Here's what a few of the judges had to say about The Beaconing Project...
"An exceptional project that has resulted in a valuable platform for educators."
"This project I love because it has a purpose. Teaching content has not changed in ages. Kids take it for granted what they are learning and how they are being taught. Adding gamification in such a clever way to change education being taught in schools is exemplary."
"Creating an ecosystem that can be used all around the world , with a variety of game elements that is customisable with add-ons that teachers can use, edit & scale-able is brilliant. Gamtastically Created!!"
Not forgetting a huge congratulations to our amazing finalists Oskar Wegner and 3radical + Standard Chartered Bank! We hope that you both have enjoyed the process and continue doing amazing and impactful things within your gamified platforms and enjoy flaunting your ‘Finalist’ badges!

Awards are a great way to get yourself, your business or your idea noticed. Now, what can be bad about that?
We caught up with EnterAfrica! At The Gamification Awards we love to catch up with our finalists and think its great to see how they plan to develop their platforms in the future and how they hope that becoming a finalist will help them.
